The T-20 Transmission first built by Borg-Warner, and ATV-O-MATIC, now built by Skid Steer Corp. has been used in thousands of Amphibious All Terrain Vehicles including Max II, Max IV, Attex, Hustler , Starcraft, Swamp Fox, Camel and many other manufactures. It as a popular choice of custom machine builders, since it gives forward, reverse, brakes, steering all within one unit.

Lay out all the clean, inspected parts out on a work bench.

When installing new bands, you will need to exchange plugers from old bands to new bands.

Drive out plunger pins using a suitable drift

Hint: Lay plunger on a large washer to drive out pin, see next photo to see brass sleeve that we use.

Install plunger on new bands in reverse of removing plunger.

When driving the pin in, make sure you center the pin in the plunger, to prevent pin from damaging the bores in the cases.

Here are 2 bands with plungers installed:

Note: Right and left winding of bands.

Left bands spiral to the right.
Right bands spiral to the left.

Use a small brake hone to clean bores of cases.

Lightly hone the bores.

 Apply grease to spring inside all seals, to prevent spring from coming loose when driving the seal in.

We use an aluminum bar to protect bearings when installing.

NOTE: Keep bearings square in bore when installing.
