Has anyone tried using the motor and batteries from an electric golf cart to power 6X6? I have an attex I want to experiment with (it's not amphibious anymore) and wondered if there is enough power to drive my machine. I know the batteries will add considerable weight but since it's not going in the water that's not a problem. I just wondered if an electric setup would get me up hills. Any thoughts on this? |

Speaking of electric powered 6x6 vehicles, what ever happened to that Extreme Machine 2000 thing. Did anyone ever actually see one, drive one, learn more bout one? |

Secretsong you can use your electric motor and it will be fine. You will have enough power. But like you said, don't go through any water or mud. I don't know where you are going to find room for the batteries though. |

Attex built such a machine in the 1970s. There's an article on Dave Copeland's site http://www.inspiritandintruth.org/attex.htm Go to "Attex Brochures" and look for the Popular Science article. |

Thats pretty cool unit. In todays dollars that would be $11,900 roughly. That would be a cool retrofit for a Max since its naturally lighter. Plenty of room back there for batteries too. Somebody sharp could probably buy a golf cart and move everything over. |

This would be a cool motor to use. http://hiperformancegolfcars.com/index.html. looks like its got alot more power than what we are used to. One on each side or one running into the T-20. Im not sure how many batteries might be needed. |

Bill- A Max is naturally lighter? Doesn't a MaxII have a heavier frame, plus a jackshaft and extra chains as compared to an Attex? Don |

That makes much more sense, Bill. Even more because I know so little about "modern" machines. Don |
