MAX 4, Well I have a 1999 Max4 and I like it a lot. For the money it's hard to beat this machine. But it has a some problems. Body sag, if you add some weight to the upper body, like a roll bar, winch and a bumper. In time the 26" tires are going to get real close to the body. So RI or Max should install a inside frame to help hold all this up, like they did in the Buffalo. Next the Max2 needs an update so you can put 28" tires on it or for a lack of a better word make a BIG FOOT model. The motors in all the machines should be WATER cooled so you can cut down on the noise and heat. Note Max has started ducting the heat out on the max2, A big step in the right direction. Also the max 4 should have the motor on the floor to keep the CG down, when in the water with 4 people aboard you will hold your breath untell you hit the shore. Well buck for buck it's the best, but for a little design change it could the machine everyone wants to own. |

I think it was 2000 when max started using a new body with more clearance and more room in the back seat. The transmission might(havn't done actual measurements)fit under the back seat but The clutch will definitly hit the body if you lower it much. A lower center of gravity would be a BIG improvement. |

How about the secondary chain tensioners on the wrong side of the chains(should be on the slack side instead of the power side)because your going foward most of the time. How about a M-6 chain tensioner like used on a harley primary? |
