I am new to this sport, want to buy a atv, both Max and Argo look pretty good, what do you guys think at the best and worst points of these? Is there any models to avoid? Please help Thanks Lance Sammer |

Lance You need to know that Argo's are either 3wd or 4 wd as they only pull form one side at a time Phillip Osborn LA |

Lance As an exowner of both Argos and Max's I would say each has their good points, I suggest you get to a dealer who sells both, say Brandon for new or Richard for used and drive both, buy what you like best |

Lance, if you have chance to go to a AATV event even just to camp out, talk to the owners, see the new and old machines. Some might take you for one of the rides or if your lucky just do a couple of laps in the camp ground to get the feel of a ATTV.If it ain't for you it wouldn't matter what make or model you get. |

Looking at both machines is a good idea, check the Owners list on this site for people who may be near to you Jeff |

If you are buying used, I woudl suggest you avoid models not having a new Vtwin engine. We could give you better ideas if you told us that you are buying new or used? Jeff |

Lance, Your profile says you registered on Route 6x6 10 years ago but this is your first post. Have you been thinking about getting a 6x6 for 10 years? |

Lance there is a weath of information on the discussion board and archives. You should be able to find a machine for around $3000. Most people on here have Max and Argo but Hustlers and Attex can also be found in the price range you mentioned. The best advice is to meet up with some people in your area and go along for a group ride and see what you like about the different machines. Used machines can range from near perfect to abused and neglected. |

Lance, nothing wrong with old machines if your willing to throw a couple bucks at it to keep up and make a enjoyable machine. I have a old bike I throw $$$.$$ at it every winter to make it dependable. It fits my application well.Folks you ride with will only put up with a person bring ing a bad machine so long, and walking out stinks.Even a late model has issues,I blew a motor in my AATV with only 187 hrs. on it,that was a tough break, people towed me to the nearest road ,jumped in another machine and continued ride as a passenger.Picked up machine later.Saw some mighty fine vintage machines on the trail that kicked butt with flawless mods.. So are you ready! |

Lance I have a 1985 Max2 with 16 hp engine, good running and good body, needs little TLC but overall a solid machine, has richard's max chain adjusters too. Asking 2500$ I am in Ontario but will deliver across the boarder for no charge Phillip Osborn LA |

Lance, lots of people have fun with two cycle units, but 3000 is too much to pay for those old machines Bryan |
