I recently purchased a new MaxIV 950T with the 27HP Liquid Cooled Kawasaki FD750D, 26" Tires, etc. This is one mean, green machine that likes to be run. It has tons of pulling power plus it is smooth running at the same time. Even with the big engine the noise is minimal (will take decibel reading later). Engine torque is 43 ft lbs. @ 2400 RPM and you can really feel it. I found climbing steep hills extremely easy (in deep snow) even with 3 adults on board it did not bog down one bit. Acceleration is smooth and predictable with stable power. It is easy to spin the wheels which can take your traction away quick though. With the 26" tires the weight is 1073 lbs. (with gas). That doesn't count other accessories like rollbar, windshield, winch, tracks, etc. Gross permissible water weight is 1305 lbs per Recreatives. Pros: Powerful, quiet, fast, great traction, plenty of seating & headroom (with conv. top). Cons: small charging coil only 20 amp, shifting is really tough at times, foot brake is hard to use if you are tall, minimal weight allowance for water travel. Overall, I highly recommend the 950T to anyone looking for some extra power for hard utility applications or to take many riders along on rides. |

Look under the "Tips" section of the home page and look at the T20 Shifter modification. I did this and the machine is nicely behaved now. Plus, I no longer break the shifter drums. Best mod I ever did. |

Thanks. I have not checked mine out yet but it seems R.I. isn't doing this modification on the new machines they sell (and mine needs it). Sometimes I work up a sweat just trying to go forward and backward. |
