Power-trac has an all new ATV the Hunter Vee. It comes painted camoflage, has an all new design (much needed) and seems to totally replace the amazing submersible ATV-6000. It has the engine and hydraulic pumps mound midships for better balance in the water, and noticeably higher sides (all the better to keep the water OUTside the atv). They still use the Kohler Comand 25 horse V-twin engine, has one joystick control so I don't know if it's 1 pump or 2. It has a wrapped muffler and isolator motor mounts so should be quieter. I don't know if it has any more hill climbability though. It LOOKS and SOUNDS like a nice machine, but my past experience with the company puts me off recomending it to anybody.
If anyone is close enough to Tazewell VA. to test drive it I'd urge you to really put it through its paces, and insist on a deepwater test because once you've handed over your cash that baby's yours. If anyone does try it I'd love to see your evaluation here. |
