Hi My Name is Max: I have an Argo 8x8. I live in the Monroe, MI area and I am looking for places to ride and people to ride with. Originally from Southern OH. Know of a few trails in that arera but, don't know of any around here. I would like to hear from other 6x6 and 8x8 owners who would like to get togeather and ride or who could just let me know where to ride in this area. |

Hi, my name is Larry I live in Warren, Mich and have wondered where everyone goes to ride. I have an Argo 8x8 and have been on the lake near Selfrige Air base this winter and was the onlyone out there with anything over 4 wheels. You can ride forever out there. I would appreciate any information I can get on where to go. Also have a cottage located between Clare and Harrison, Lake George. Thanks, Have a great day! |

http://www.dnr.state.mi.us/Orv.asp is the link to all the trails and routes with maps. I have used many of the routes around the Gladwin area. Trails are off-limits, but the scramble areas are wide open. |

Most of the legal riding trails are all around Clare and north. I would like to have all of you guys make it to the ride in Olean NY on July 15,16,&17th. Its a great place to ride. I know of atleast 4 other guys from Michigan that will be there. Three of us are leaving eary Friday morning (July 15th about 5am). Its the old Humprey Ride. It would be nice to have a big Michigan showing. You woun't be disappointed. Larry |

Larry--I am happy to hear somebody talking up the Olean N.Y. ride. I was there for the first time last year. We had a great time. People were great, trails were awsome and John and David made movies so we can relive the adventure. The only thing that could make it better is even more people. It,s pretty bad when the ATTEX guys can almost outnumber tha Argo and Max machines. EIGHT weeks and counting book now. W. Philip |

I live in Fremont MI, and I try going out to the trails by the powerlines. I removed my 340cc Kawasaki 2 stroke from my old Argo, and am putting in a rotax 635cc. I'm thinking the extra power will keep me from getting stuck. Glad I have an old one that came with a snowmobile engine in the first place. |

It definately is a UFODG! I cannot believe the difference! Has so much power I broke the back hub bolts off. Had to go back and get my floating tire out of the mud hole. I didn't have problems with the knobby tires before with the underpowered 340, but now with the overpowered 635 I'm seeing the problems. I just have to get some different tires. |

Joshua, thats nuttin, you could shear off your hubs too! make sure to get them gusseted to prevent the hubs from shearing off. and if it is one of the older type with three bolt pateren holding a 5 bolt adapter on the hub you might as well just cut ends of axels off and have your machine shop weld the adapteres on as hubs with the gussets as well, the diference in lenth of the old 3 bolt pateren axels and newer type for 5 bolt pat for 8" rims is about 1"shorter for the centered 8" rims. |

I have some three bolt hubs, that are supported well in the back. There is some kind of ring on the hub that supports a ring that is on the back side of the rim. The rims are 8", so I don't have a problem finding tires that will fit them. I just took out the grade 5 bolts I had and replaced them with grade 8 bolts. So far so good, but I am hoping to get some less aggressive tires soon. |

Thanks to a fellow Michigander, we were able to trade something I had for the 8 used Goodyear Runamuck tires he had. I tried these on my Argo, and I am just amazed at what the difference is. I can turn easily, and I get some great propulsion from these tires through the mud. Also, I like the smooth ride that these tires offer. The 635cc actually hunkers down a little when I'm floored through the mud. |
