Anyone interested in an informal ride in the next month or so at Little Egypt Off Road by Marion IL or maybe a trip to Turkey Bay? I've seen too much bickering and insults being thrown around and I think it is time to get out for a group ride. |

I would be more likey to ride at LEOR than turkey bay. I didn't enjoy turkey bay. It was hard on my machine (3 flats at once) |

I would also prefer L.E.O.R. due to logistics. It would be good to get some guys together for a ride just about anywhere. |

I thought I'd repost here instead of the max II with 24" tires thread since we were getting off topic there. I can set up a ride at LEOR if there is some interest. It can be as big or small as we want and we can schedule it when we want. They have events going on so if we scheduled on an open weekend or extended weekend we could get it posted at LEOR and on their website and on Route6X6. LEOR has 750+ acres of old strip mine area with several long strip pits filled with water. There are some long established trails. Some trails can only be used by amphibious ATVs because of a permanent flooding. There are some hills that I don't attempt. The website is www.leormc.org Check the schedule and we could fit something in on a weekend that is open. |

Jerry, Just throw a few dates out there and see who can make it.I have been wanting to see L.e.o.r.park to see if it would be good for a Jeep ride.We always seem to do LBL once a year, maybe more people would like to do that.I like to ride when it is cool,so 90+ weather is out for me,so early or late summer or early fall is ok for me. Eddie, I'll pick some dates that look open on their calendar. They don't allow Jeeps or any vehicles with a registration for the road. They allow motorcycles, quad atvs and amphibious atvs. There are a lot of areas set up for trials bikes and the trails run all over the area. Amphibious ATVs are an oddity there and the quads all stop and stare. I am in the process of buying a new house and it is on the Big Muddy River. There is a trail along the river that goes for at least 20 miles. I have not been on it but just heard about it and walked it a little. I'll know more in a couple of months and may be able to set up a ride on that trail. Anyway I'll set up a weekend or two at LEOR for an informal get together. |

You may be talking about Paddy's Bluff. They let everything in. I've been there a couple of times. We had a group ride there once. Chuck goes there and has been there more than most. |

I spoke with the office manager at LEOR this afternoon. She said we can come just about anytime we want. For our enjoyment it would be best to visit when nothing else is scheduled. We can go during the week or on the weekend or combine the days for a long weekend. We can camp overnight in the park. Going with weekends to just get a general time. The dates I see that there is nothing scheduled and there is just open riding are: April 21-22 April 28-29 May 12-13 May 19-20 May 26-27 |

How about the 28th-29th to give people a little longer to plan? I went there yesterday and went on some new trails that must have been made this past week. |

I'm pretty flexible and will try to make the ride. The "Big Muddy" sounds ominous |

You can check it out from the air on google earth. I think one pit is over a mile long. I have only been able to exit at one spot. I normally enter from the east and swim west to that exit point. There are 3 pits, small medium, large. |

LEOR get together and ride April 28, 29. It is also listed under events on the Route6x6 home page. 6X6 owners can get in a day or two early and can camp at the park. |

I have not seen much interest in the LEOR ride scheduled for this coming weekend so I won't be there on Saturday. I may get out there on Sunday. |

Alright, I changed my mind.. am not going, too far and too late. Brought the argo in for a once over this afternoon and ended up pulling an axle, etc so am tired and 500 miles away. I gave it a shot anyway. |

Well I was the only AATV at LEOR. I still had a good time. A big group of Rhino type machines came over before I could get mine off the trailer. We talked and rode all day together. The place had some nice wide trails. Good hills and gooie different colored mud pits. I wish that I wasn't the only 6x6 or 8x8 there. I liked it still. It reminded me a little like Deepwater some. I'll go there again and ride. Rick |

Good to hear, Rick. The pics I've seen looked good. We'll have to plan another one. Jerry, you think there's any issue with non roll bar machines? I guess not.. 'cause Chuck rides there? Let's see, I could take two weeks off, ride and camp at LEOR, then Haspin, then Ledges. Maybe Badlands on way home |

No problem with no rollbar. Rollbars are not a requirement. The only requirement is the helmet. They don't want night riding but if I am there or there is a group it isn't a problem. They had some people get lost on a night ride and had to send out a search party. They like the 6x6 amphibious atvs there. We can have it open and camp there and ride during the weekdays and not just the weekends. |

This isn't LEOR related, just sticking it somewhere, thought you guys would enjoy it. Got an e mail from my Vanguard Guru who races mowers.. you know those little signature thoughts/sayings at the bottom of posts or mailings. This is his: "Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming . . "WOW ---What a Ride!" |
