HI!,
THE 2ND ANNUAL 6X6 & 8X8 OFF-ROAD LEDGES ADVENTURE DATE HAS BEEN SET FOR
JULY 28, 29, 30, 31, 2005 AT GARRETTSVILLE, OHIO.
RICHARD WILL BE POSTING MORE INFORMATION THIS WEEK UNDER EVENTS! PLEASE WATCH FOR MORE DETAILS! HE WILL ALSO BE POSTING A FEW PHOTOS OF THE RIDE FOR THOSE OF YOU THAT DID NOT MAKE IT LAST YEAR, SO YOU CAN GET AN IDEA OF SOME OF THE FUN WE HAD! OUR RIDE IS ALL ABOUT HAVING FUN WITH FAMILY AND FELLOW RIDERS! WE ARE HOPING THAT EVERYONE THAT WAS THERE LAST YEAR WILL MAKE IT AGAIN AND WE ARE HOPING TO SEE A FEW NEW FACES AS WELL! WE HAD OVER 60 VEHICLES LAST YEAR. WE ARE ADDING MORE OPEN TRAIL RIDING THIS YEAR. THERE WILL ALSO BE MORE TRAILS AND BETTER MARKINGS ON THEM! ALONG WITH A FEW OTHER SURPRIZES!
RIDE ON OVER 1400 HUNDRED ACRES! LAKE! SWAMPS! HILLS! DUNES! DICE RUN, BAND, HOG ROAST, GAMES,PRIZES, PRIZES & MORE! GROUP LUNCH and GAMES AT THE LAKE! NIGHT RIDES, CAMPING ON SITE!

Becky, just wanted to let you know you guys have a great website going there. Enjoyed looking at some of those ride pics you have up there- keep up the good work- hope I have the opportunity to get my ARGO out to one of those rides sometime. |

Dave, Thanks for taking the time to look our web site over! I also want to let everyone know that John Schwab has videos for sale from last years event.
Like usual he made a great video. Dave I hope you can make it to one of our rides too! For me & Gregg it is just a blast getting to meet everyone that we talk to over the years! If anyone has any questions about the ride just call me! Any make & model of Amphibious Vehicles are welcome! Gregg is bringing his sweet corn again for the Hog Roast! I have posted last minute driving directions they are as follows.
THE PHYSICAL ADDRESS OF RIDING AREA TO USE FOR MAPQUEST IS:
10321 SILICA SAND RD.
GARRETTSVILLE, OH 44231-9417
FROM INTERSTATE 80 AT EXIT 209 NEWTON FALLS, OHIO
*Take 5 WEST to Hwy 534 NORTH (light at intersection)
*Take Hwy 534 NORTH ABOUT 5 MILES TO NELSON MOSIER RD.
*Turn LEFT/ WEST onto NELSON MOSIER RD. (If you get to Phalanx Mills you missed NELSON MOSIER RD.
*NELSON MOSIER RD. turns into SILICA SAND RD once you pass SHANKSDOWN RD. You will continue WEST ON SILICA SAND RD. for just over a mile or so to the drive entrance at 10321 Silica Sand RD. WE WILL HAVE THE ENTRANCE MARKED!
Note: The entrance is just a short ways past the bridge around some sharp curves. Slow down after the bridge!
(From Interstate 80 exit 209 to Silica Sand Rd. is about 12 miles)
FROM HOLIDAY INN AT NEWTON FALLS:
*Turn right out of HOLIDAY INN drive onto Hwy 5 EAST
(You cannot turn west out of the drive)
Go a short ways to the first median turn around and take 5 WEST.
*Take 5 WEST to Hwy 534 NORTH (light at intersection)
*Take Hwy 534 NORTH ABOUT 5 MILES TO NELSON MOSIER RD.

If there was ever a perfect weekend, the Ledges Ride could be it. Warm summer days, cool nights zero rain and minimal dust. Both night rides went well into the AM hours. The band was excellent, as was the pig roast saturday night. But the best part of the weekend again this year was the great group of people that attended. Folks that only see each other once or twice a year greeted each other as family. There wasn't a hint of brand controversy or envy,once in a while a little kidding. That river crossing on the saturday ride will be remembered by all of us. It was cool to see so many people "cheering" on the river crossers and all of the laughter. It reminded me of Ramonas Mudhole at the Humphrey rides.
A big thank you to Leo's group and the Orr family for a job well done.Also thank you to everyone who donated their time and equipment so that we could all have fun. I hope we can do it again next year.
We can all help assure future events by spreading the word and getting attendance up a bit. If we all bring a new person then it will be easier for the folks who write the checks to use a black pen.
I have been working on the video, it is going to be a long one thanks to footage contributed by others. I will post here when the first copies are ready for mailing, hopefully early next week. |

bigswill, it's called olean now, only 9 miles from humphrey but same folks run it, it is now all on privet property so we cant loose it like kept hapening in humphrey,
the jamboree is now held at coperridge ohv park,
(check out the links of route6x6 links page)
great people, great food, great trails,
the 2005 jamboree has passed, but they do have us AATV 6 and 8 wheelers out there for dice runs at other times during the year too!
although the jamboree is the biggest there dice runs have a good turn out as well, so theres likely another event comeing up for you to attend,
go ahead and viset there site for more info and also you can contact them directly or by e-mail for more info, we are welcom at any events they have.

My video of the 2005 Ledges ride is finished and most went out in saturdays mail. Anyone who wants a copy should contact me at jsschwab@localnet.com This years video is two hours and forty-eight minutes long and quite entertaining. They are still only $18 on DVD including postage to the US. Postage to Canada is an additional $2. |

John, Another great job on the video! It was the best movie we have seen all year! It even had our whole family together in the same room for over an hour! (laughing!) We really enjoyed it! It is a must have - must see, for anyone who enjoys riding! It is worth ordering, for those of you who did not get one yet! Thanks so much John for taking the time to put together such a neat movie!
I hope to get some photos posted on here soon. Make sure you watch for them. Also, if anyone else has some good pictures, please send them in!
Gregg and I also want to thank everyone that helped us out with the ride! We had help with set up, cooking, garbage detail to tear down! It was so nice that everyone helped us out so we could enjoy the ride as well! THANK YOU! Gregg and Becky Orr |
