Becky- Thanks for the reminder. My app. was languishing on my desk, but it is now on its way. I am really looking forward to your event. Hopefully I won't be the only Max there, that is usually the case at our Haspin rides. Perhaps I could borrow an Argo from Leo for the weekend, say an Avenger or something like that. Well it was worth a try...See you there! |

Thank you Becky. The directions seem straightforward, so I should arrive after lunch on friday. I am really looking forward to a fresh new ride location, and if we have the same type of fun-loving group we had at Copper Ridge we will have a memorable weekend! |

Hi, The name of the road that you want to turn onto off of 534 is Nelson Mosier Rd. (it then turns into Silica Sand Rd.) Nelson Mosier is just South of Phalanx Mills and 5 miles North of Hwy 5. I will post signs. If you get lost call 574-806-8501 or 815-378-6868. Thanks Becky Orr |

Now that the Copper Ridge Jamboree is behind us, it is time to get ready for the 3rd Annual Ledges Ride already! Who from the board will be there? I hear that there has been significant improvements to the camp areas, hopefully a few more outhouses also. |

John, I will be at the Ledges, I want to take this opportunity to thank Cheif John and Greg Thropp and Devin and the others who ran the 6 & 8 wheeler event at Copper Ridges. I think evaryone had a great time. People were more than friendly and I DID NOT ROLL my machine. Your comment about my skid pan being faded from too much exposure to the sun may have been a bit exagerated but I,m good now! Thanks everyone, see you at the Ledges. P.S. I have to replace an idler sprocket on my rear drive chain but I.m working on that now. Since I would rather ride than wrench , I am seriously considering trading up to a new machine. I am going to look seriously at an Avenger but they were about a third slower in the water race and I spend a lot of time in the water. W. Philip Cox |

Hey folks......here are two pictures of the water race. The first picture shows Mike's son making a spectacular exit from the pond at the finish line, in Mike's 28 year old red Rim machine. Second picture shows the senior members of the Mott family, being the good sports that they are, exiting the pond on the far side. W. Philip Cox |

} Well only a few days left until the Ledges. Everything is looking good for the event! Leo said they have had a lot of rain, so look for water on the trails! Be sure to bring bug spray, rain ponchos and mud boots! Chance of drizzle in the forcast. Should make for some fun riding. Looking forward to seeing everyone again! If you get lost or need anything you can reach me on my cell phone 574-806-8501 or call Leos at 440-285-1730. Everyone have a safe trip! We are heading out tomorrow to set things up. CAN'T WAIT! Good News, Gregg is bringing a bunch of sweet corn from our farm! To top things off the boys are bringing a homemade buggy they put together for fun. How about a 650cc in a 6x6, should be fun! I will post pictures when we get back! See ya at the Ledges! Becky |

Roger- Greg,s HOT ROD was a very expensive machine. Beautifully put together with expensive parts. You could eat off of the motor=rear radiator, alum. checkerplate etc. It is no doubt capable of much more speed than it is so far producing. but it,s blinding fast now! Greg rolled it during a demo run on Sunday. Nobody hurt. I hope we see this machine again after it,s been fine tuned a bit. W, Philip |

Lance-Ian's expression is the same one we all had at the Ledges ride. What a fantastic extended weekend. That saturday night ride was not only the longest(4 AM) but the most extreme ever, we went places that frogs dared not go. A big thank you and a job-well-done goes out to all the folks who worked so hard to put on this event. Attendance was up a bit this year, I heard there were 69 machines, about 150 people. The food was great, the trails were plenty wet, but the best part was the people. What a friendly, upbeat group, a million laughs. I can't wait till the next Ledges ride!! |

Hey everyone, this is Gayle Orr... Just wanted to let everyone know that I had a blast, and thanks to eveyone who helped out and participated in the ride! John Schwab: Thanks for being my sidekick on a couple of the rides...The best night ride ever was Saturday night in the swamp...it was quite long and didnt end till 4 am...now that is what you call a Ledges Adventure...I was really impressed with all the new drivers as well as the experienced ones at the river crossings.....Did anyone elses like the mudhole at the dunes as much as I did? ANYONE: WHAT WAS YOUR FAVORITE PART OF THE LEDGES ADVENTURE 2006? Thanks....Gayle Orr P.S. when my mom gets done packing the gazillion things she brought, she is going to post some pictures...Once again it was great to see everyone! |

Hot Rod 6x6 pictures (before Gregg’s Roll Over!) The guys had fun showing it off, but will be the first to admit that it is not running up to snuff. They were still working on it the day before we left. It only had nine miles on it when we ran it at the Ledges. Still working out the clutching and belt battle! Had bad gas in it and a loose wire at the trial run.. The second day that they ran with new gas made a big difference. Went fast enough for Gregg Jr. to have a little roll over, with the help of a large rock buried under the gravel! Thank goodness no one was hurt! However Luis Scherer had the fastest unit there, a old Max. The boys had fun racing around. Thanks to Luis for making things so much fun! To answer some of Jack's questions: Well this was really built just for fun to keep the boys busy in the shop last winter. They modified the chain tensioners, used an Avenger transmission, but welded double 50 sprockets into the brake disk instead of using the single 60 sprocket. Had a lot of modifying to do the make the snowmobile exhaust work. They put a lot of time into the wiring to make sure everything work. Even hooked up the speed O! They started with an uncut upper body and made the openings their own. Had to rebuild the 650cc engine. Made a suspension seat and the steering outboard to name a few things. They used air tanks for gas tanks once they modified the fittings. Had to do a lot of work for the cooling system. Dressed everything up with diamond plate. Cost? Have not had time to figure it yet. Fun, Fast and Crazy? Yes. More to come on the photo gallery. |
