I need a little help with this too. My max 2 has a 295 jlo motor at this time but plan on putting a 18 or 20 hp vangaurd in her later on.as most know the 295 does'nt charge that much at all.Ive put a marine bat (blue Top)in and i hope it will work out ok.I run headlights and the 2 red marker lights in back most of the time, but I have 3 sets of driving lights(blazer)2 sets in front and 1 in the back And a 3000 pnd winch and a cig lighter. No I dont run them all at once, but I might run the winch and front lights at the same time .what would be the best way to charge the bat with out worring about it . |

eddie, i can tell you that i have the same problem that you do with the recharging system in me 2000 max II. i have the 16 vanguard, i added an extra set of lights on the front, that are wired right to the factory ones, so they all come on at the same time along with the rear marker light. i also have a set of lights on the back that i have on a switch, so the majority of the time they are off. the battery held up great, untill i added a radio with one 6x9, that did it in. even if the radio is off it seems to kill the battery, so i think that i need to rewire it maybe with a switch. i would like to think that some one out there has an easy fix for the charging system, and would like to share your thoughts. i soon would like to add a cig lighter and a winch for my plow, but i dont want to have to pull start it every time i want to ride.
