I'm interested in learning more about the Ratcliffe 6x6, which according to Richard Clark was made in the 70's and then sold in the mid 80's... I know someone that owns one and I'm trying to research it. Its a neat machine with a full cab and hydrostatic transmission with a Subaru engine in it. I've googled Ratcliffe, but can't find any data about the company, or other pictures of them or any real information about them. Its a real neat machine. I've got tons of questions including: How many were made? Who were they marketed and sold too? Are they good machines? How long where they sold for before they went out of business? What price where they sold for and are they worth anything today? Are parts still available? Etc.... Matt |

matt it almost looks like some raticle prototype built on an attex body, i like that cab though. you might want to make fiberglass molds of it. if it dose fit on an attex body theres still lots of them out there and probly takers on a nice cab like that! |

Matt,Awsome cab! Did you mean to say that you use all 12 tires to mount the tracks? Does this machine have suspension on the axles? You must get that machine running and shined up it is a very cool attraction. |

I'm still trying to learn about it. It runs and drives, I've been having a lot of fun with it out in our corn field. It doesn't feel like it has suspension, but I don't know exactly what the slots are that are by the wheels, if it slides up and down to increase ground clearance or if that is a suspension of sorts. I'd like to mount a snowplow on the front too (it looks like it might have had something on it). What do you think it was used for? The front does look like an argo, but it is really long. Its over 7ft wide from the tire rims edge. To get the snow tracks to work, you need all 12 tires on there, the track is wide...looks like 2 Argo tracks per side, but they are jointed, so there are only two tracks...even though it took four to make the two. |

I hope you find more info on this machine, it is just a neet looking machine. I recently meet some people who live around here that know alot about 6x6's.I will ask to see if they have heard of this ratcliffe. Is there any model or serial numbers on it.If so let me know. It reminds me of the time I was driving a volkswagon down the interstate and I looked behind me and there was a mack truck trying to climb up my bumper, what a strange feeling... So if I see you coming up behind me on a trail, you can bet I'm getting out of your way..haha |
