hay all, i have a 1987 Maxxx II with the Techumpsa 16ohv engine, last weekend while duck hunting the thing died on me in the middle of a flodded rice field. seems to be running out of fuel. it fuel pump on the carb seems like it could be the problem. can i put in a low presure electric pump, if so where can I get one. Another problem, the starter went out after cranking for only a couple minutes. i need to get this fixed fast (before next weekend) last thing - is there a problem with disconecting the govenor ? i dont see any if you have good throttle control. Thanks in advance Jeff |

defenatly dont defeat the govener on your it'y bity motor, most internals will fail if over reved, even under load, prehaps you could call richard clark and see what he's got in stock you might be able to aford, now seams the time to upgrade to a more powerfull v-twin briggs or something, the v-twin briggs motors can have goveners bypased and rev kits are available from 600raceing.com thatl strenthin up the conecting rod and valve train isues asociated with high reving engines. |
