My 95 Kohler 20 has a real hard time starting once the engine is HOT. Starts fine with choke when cold. I just purchased this machine so have no histoy other than it has very low hours. When running it has a slight hesitation when reving up but seems to run strong. Idles fine. Any help would be great! |

James: When you go to start it when it is hot, check to see if you have any spark. Sometimes a coil could be getting bad. Also do you smell any raw fuel? Could be carb. slightly out of adj.You didn't say if the machine had been sitting not being used. Carb. could be gummed up. |

Yes, the machine has been sitting for some time. Infact, when I bought it I had to change the plugs to get it to run right... and it does run good. I will put a timing light on it when its hot to see if there's a spark. I am suspious of the carb adjustments because of the slight hesitation during acceleration. I think maybe the unit is leaned out too much at idle. I've seen lawn mowers have this problem as well... |

to jame from daveyoder i agree with larry your coil might be bad and your carb need to be cleaned out and when it get hot that not cool man when your kohler20 does that and can spark flying around you |
