here is what i do know.its equiped with a single jug JLO rockwell motor,the top of the machine is orange and bottom brown,and it only have a 8in. by 12in opening in the rear to axcess the engine.any help in this matter would be great..thanks Brian |

to brian from scrambler71 look at your id tag it should say what year is it sound like a late seventies or mid eighties and you call your loc max dealer they should be able to to tell you your id tag should be on left side on the upper body |

Brian, Call the factory with your serial number and they will tell you what year you have. I worked on a 1978 with serial number 6341, it had a JLO. SN 6449 and SN 6541 were both 1979s and had Tecumseh engines. |

if your max is mid 70's or older they cannot tell you the exact year. i have a maxIV and gave them the serial number and all they could tell me was it was made sometime in the mid 70's.their records only go back so far. good luck maybe yours is newer. |
