I want to lift my max11 up off the ground using a (motorcycle lift) If I use a 2x6 flat on the arms of my lift, I wondered if that might collapse the tub? Any other suggestions would be appreciated.

ED,
I TRIED TO E-MAIL YOU BUT YOUR E-ADDRESS WAS NOT WORKING. ANYWAY, I JUST SENT RICHARD SOME PICTURES AND A DETAILED PLAN FOR A AATV LIFT THAT I BUILT FOR MY MAXII. ITS CONSTRUCTED FROM PRESSURE TREATED LUMBER AND DESIGNED TO DRIVE THE MAX ON IT ALLOWING ALL THE WHEELS TO BE OFF THE GROUND APPROXIMATELY TWO TO THREE INCHES. CLEANING THE INSIDE CHAINS IS EASY SINCE YOU CAN RUN THE MACHINE AT IDLE AND SPRAY DEGREASER OR CLEANER ON ALL THE MECHANICALS. AFTER SOAKING FOR AWHILE, JUST HOSE OR PRESSURE WASH ALL THE GUNK OFF AND IT DRAINS OUT THE HOLES IN THE BACK, THE LIFT IS DESIGNED WITH A SLIGHT INCLINE TO DRAIN IT EFFICIENTLY. ALSO, BY REMOVING ALL YOUR WHEELS, I BELIEVE THAT YOU CAN GREASE THE OUTSIDE BEARINGS BETTER IN GEAR AT IDLE THAN IF YOU GREASED THEM AT A STANDSTILL.
THIS LIFT IS DESIGNED FOR THE MAXII BODY, I'M SURE IT CAN BE ADAPTED FOR OTHER MAKES OF MACHINES BY ALTERING THE DIMENSIONS. YOU DRIVE THE ATV ONTO THE LIFT AS FAR AS THE TIRES WILL GIVE YOU TRACTION, THEN JUST SLIDE THE REST OF THE ATV ON THE LIFT BY PUSHING IT FROM THE BACK OF THE MACHINE. THE ATV ACTUALLY RESTS ON TWO FLAT 2 X 6 RAILS WHICH SUPPORT IT COMPLETELY ON THE OUTER LOWER SECTIONS OF THE BOTTOM OF THE ATV.
I,VE SENT RICHARD ALL THE INFORMATION AND PICTURES ON HOW IT WORKS ON MY MAXII AND ASKED HIM TO POST IT IN THE HOW-TO SECTION OF ROUTE 6X6. IT'LL PROBABLY BE POSTED IN A FEW WEEKS, I JUST SENT IT OUT SNAIL MAIL YESTERDAY.

I just use a jack to lift mine up! I got it at Walmart for about 20 bucks. Does anyone know anything about problems with the starter on a Bigfoot? I am having problems with the ignition system on my Bigfoot. I keep blowing fuses in it! It all started after I let a friend of mine use it when I was away! |

I recently used a regular car jack (the ones the Dodge Caravans have in them (2003 Sport model) ) and it warped the lower tub of the ARGO
I ended up having to just let it warp while I finished what I was doing as it wasn't for a long time. IF possible, the best is to put a piece of wood (flat piece and long if possible to distribute the force of the jack so the warping is decreased. |

2 ton hydrolic jack and a 3ft 2x4 makes a great lift.from either the front or back.just make sure you put the 2x4 under the frame. tim, as far as you blowing fuses check your fuse box for dirt, water etc.then look at your starter solinoid, just above the battery.if you are blowing fuses you have a short some where.look for bare wires grounding out.i went through 3 solenoids and 8 fuses on my bigfoot in 2 years.hope this helps. mike |

I use a floor jack and big peice of wood "20x20" .It works great for everything that i had to do.Rick |

I use a hydraulic pallet jack that I lay two 2 x 6 boards on as spacers for lift height. it works well for chain adjustment and lube as well as moving our 6 x 6 around in the shop |

try a pallet jack,mine works great you can move your rig anywhere you want, there cheap on e-bay |
