hi, i am very new to the sport, i have a late 80's argo with a 17 horse kohler. the problem is there is a noise coming from somewhere up front, the noise is loudest in low and quieter in high kinda sounds like chain running acrost plastic but i know that is not the case,i removed the firewall and floorpan and it still made the noise im wondering if something is wrong with the transmision i completly cleaned the machine the sprockets and replaced the chains thinking that was the problem and all the bearings seem to be in good shape. at this point im lost and dont want to throw money at the wrong part. any info or tips would be apreciated. thanks roy |

Check the idler chains(on the trans). The pan may have deflected a little and is scrubbing against the bottom chain right under the sprocket on one side or another. |
