I am going to replace my oil drain plug on my briggs Vanguard (18 horse power) with a petcock style valve. Since I want to do this all as one process (ie. pull plug, change oil, replace with new plug) I would like to know if anyone can tell me the size and thread pattern of the drain plug. That way I can purchase the correct size and do this in one operation. Is it pipe thread and is it 1/2 inch, 7/16, etc...???? Thanks all. |

Hi David, thanks, I did search the archives and could not find the information that I needed. I don't want to order it as I can go to the parts store and pick it up and change the plug today...rather than wait for the parts to arrive. I just need to know what size and thread pattern are on the drain plug so I can purchase the correct replacement. thanks again for your response. |

newmax, drill it and then use an easy out to remove it. Most hardware stores with tools sell easy outs. good luck. |
