I going to buy a 6x6 and will do all regular maintence myself. Which machine is more friendly in this respect? I'm not a motor-head, but don't mind getting dirty just hate getting frustrated. Also which machine is the most reliable in your opinion? Argo/Max. I like machines that last a long time because they are designed right from the beggining, good engineering, simple design.

here we go again. brendan If i were you i would just go and look both machines over very closely and make the call yourself. I will tell you argo is the way to go and someone else will tell you max is the way to go. we are all a little bias whether we admit it or not to our specific machine. I think both machines are a good product and i will leave it at that. good luck on your mission of choice if you accept it. argogeru.

Brenden, I agree with Argogeru above. Check both out yourself and make the call for your situation. Here's my 2 cents though, as I did look at both before I made my purchase. The Argo is a very well built machine, and my impression is it's a little higher quality in design, manufacturing and construction. It is also a little higher complexity than the Max's, which would make it a little harder to work on, but not too bad. The higher build quality might mean you don't have to work on it as much though. Now for the Max, which I purchased. As low tech as the Max's are, they do work well, and everything is easily accessible and obvious as to what it does. The chains are all open and easy to get to, the engine is easy to get to, the belts and transmission are all exposed and easy to work on. The machine is the ultimate in low tech devices, and it is very easy to work on. It is a maintenance machine though, you must maintain it to keep it in good order. Either machine is really a good choice in my opinion, I went with the Max due to the Buffalo Truck's cargo bed which I needed more than anything.
