If i put tracks on my max II will the 16 hp briggs be able to pull me around strongly still? and can you lower gears in the T20 to lower to speed and stronger low speed? mine needs to be rebuilt because it pulls to one side and it isnt the plungers on T20 or tires pulling...i have both sticks pushed forward and has a pull to the left. and does anyone know how good a max pulls with tracks in soupy deep mud, what about stuffing 25" tires on a max II, how does that workout? i would like to get tracks because i have problems with getting high centered and the belly of my max dragging along to much. If i got tracks wheel extensions from richards relics is that all i need for tracks? thanks yall -Jonno in FL |

Hi I got tru tracks on my buffalo 1997 and I seem to have just enough power with the 20 hp.I know the max 2 is much lighter so it might be good.I would get the extra axle supports,I go threw bearnings with out any extra support. The tracks do slow you down and use power to move them. |

hi, i have a 1991 max2 with trax and 16hp vangard. works fine. only time it bogs down and i miss havin a little more power is in REALLY DEEP fluffy snow in the ditches. otherwise no problem with 16hp. i have a set of rubber trax here still for sale that im not gonna use as it beat up my drivetrain too much. i dont have the inner bearings and in my opinion if yer gonna run the heavier rubber trax u need a newer machine with the updates. also they r ALOT heavier than the plastic tracks i now have that havnt tried in snow and the 16 powered them fine so i say u have no problem. also putting on a larger clutch will give u some extra power out of the 16. a new trick i heard and someone can chime in if they heard this is 18" tires with trax. thats what im gonna try next with my new plastic trax. supposedly they work better and u get more torque with the deep snow? looking forward to trying. feel free to ask me anything, got lots of experience with all this! and yes extensions and trax is ALL uy need unless u have larger tires than 21" u can only use 21" and smaller tires. as faras 25" tires u can put 26 on there as well, just not with trax. better ground clearance in bogs and stuff with larger tires. depending on what yer doin with it!......scot |
