Hi I am new to argos and have just purchased an 8 wheel 750 avenger. I will be using this for moose hunts that will bring me way back into the swamps for a week at a time. My question is can anyone give me some suggestions on what spare parts should go with me as I need to be able to get out. What areas of the argo tend to break down. P.S. I am runnig 18 inck rubber tracks. Thaks for your help. |

Honestly, I looked at a few of the reviews and there doesn't seem to be anything that you really need, maybe a small air compresssor and low pressure tire gage if you might pop a tire bead by bad luck, a come a long if you don't have a mounted winch. Maybe a spare gas filter if you hit some bad gas from jerry cans. |

Hi J The most importhant is chestwaders. A couple of lenghts of rope and a good battery for a winch. When youre in mud you have no traction. |

J, most common items to keep with you are extra drive belt, I always keep a pair of pliers or vise grips with me as well as a interchangable screwdriver just in case. I keep a bit of engine oil with me as well just in case. I also carry a heavy chain with me as well, gives the winch cable an extra length if necessary, or can be used in many other ways too. Apart from that they are very reliable machines. If you are running tracks, a spare collar and set screw should be kep too, don't know what tracks you have. |

For the moose hunt I always take along a spare tire, a hand tire pump, extra set of bearings as well as the bearing plates, housing, couple of carriage bolts, and necessary tools to change them, in addition to the other things mentioned. You can run on a flat no problem, but broken bearings are a little tougher. You may also want a few master chain links. The first year I had it into the camp I had a nasty gas leak into the engine compartment, and found that my lines were old and extremely brittle. If it's an old machine you may want to replace those rather than test them on a goat path. I haven't used my tracks at the camp and have had no problems but I don't go out of my way to drive on muskeg. We have driven ATVs on it to retrieve moose, so I figure my Argo can go on it as well. Oh, one other thing, a starter rope if your machine isn't equipped with one. It sounds like a lot of stuff, and hopefully you don't need it, but let's face it, you aren't going to push these out of the woods, and you want to spend your time on the hunt for moose, not the hunt for parts. |
