I have a 2008 Frontier that seems to have the chains rub and hit the floor pan on and off. It only has 30 hours on it. Has anyone ever had this problem? Gordy. |

You probably need to manually tighten the chain adjusters by just pulling on them. New chain adjusters sometimes stick tight and won't move until you break them loose. Raising the vehicle off the ground helps with this adjustment. You also need to adjust the chains coming off the trans when they get loose. These things usually make the newer Argos run pretty quiet, but some noise is not uncommon or anything to worry about. |

I have tightend the chains and it still sounds like it is rubbing on the floor pan under my foot.It seems to almost go away right after i lube the chains, but then comes back. Boy, does it get me mad. Only 42 hours on the unit. Any other ideas? Thanks, Gordy.} |

Is this the 6X6 Frontier? I'm wondering if it's the front chains that run over the crossmember? Mine do the same, not much to be done about it, unless you could possibly place a piece of snowmobile slider material on top of the crossmember, that might give some clearance and less noise. |

YES, ITS A 6X6 2007. I HAD A 2003 BIGFOOT AND NEVER HAD THIS NOISE PROBLEM EVEN AFTER 475 HOURS. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER AND THEY SAID THEY HAD NO FIX. THERE HAS TO BE SOMETHING FOR THE KIND OF MONEY THESE THINGS COST. AND YES THE MIDDLE DRIVE CHAIN DOES RUN OVER THE CROSS MEMBER. I THINK I AM GOING TO TRY TO SHIM THE FLOOR PAN UP A LITTLE. HOPEFULLY THE SHIELD THAT COVERS THE TRANSMISSION WILL FIT BACK IN. ANY OTHER IDEAS? THANKS |

I FIGURED OUT WHAT TO DO. I PUT A PIECE OF RUBBER ABOUT 1/4 INCH THICK UNDER THE FLOOR PAN AND I HAVE NOT HEARD A SOUND. MAN AM I GLAD THAT NOISE IS GONE. GORDY. |
