I am taking on a bit of water in my Max II where the upper and lower bodies join right where the body slopes down at the back of the seat on that slope on both sides. The bearings and bearing flanges and the plugs don't leak a drop when filled with water over the axles. On the passenger side the reason was the wiring loom was jammed over the gasket instread of in the channel but on the drivers side it leaked a little as well.I could see the muddy water track is how I know. The gasket looks good.Should I double the gasket? It looks good. |

You could double the gasket, turn the wheels slower in the water so they don't splash as much, and install a bilge pump and don't worry about it too much. |

Hey Jerry is it better to have a auto matic or manual bilge pump. |

I like a manual pump. Because the automatics usual ahve a float that moves up to activate a switch. On trails the float will bounce and activate the pump. |

Jerry :I have a bilge pump.A Walmart special. It pumps about 2 pails a minute.Where do you think is the best place for it.The only place I could see was in the very tail end on drivers side just above the plug.Due to the shape of the hull it on the level still could have a lot of water before the pump could reach it.I am thinking of two smaller cylindrical pumps one on each side.immediately above the plugs.LOL I'm not too worried about sinking just trying to rig it up as good as I can.I sure am having fun Jerry. |
