When I turn the key, the starter spins for a little longer than it takes to start the engine, sometimes it sounds awful when it does. Solinoid? Ignition? THis is a Max IV, '93. |

I would suspect the starter bendix is not disengaging. maybe the gear is getting worn and needs to be replaced. |

Sean If you have a plastic starter gear, make sure you replace it with the correct plastic one, not a steel one as they are not interchangeable Dave |

Where can I see the starter gear on the starter? I will check. I also installed this starter myself, but I can check on the one I took out last time. |
