What kind of problems? The nylon adjusters can be replaced with the chains in situ. If you need to removed the chains, then you can take them off with the adjusters in place. Find the link, and pop it off. Have a magnet handy as you may drop some pieces down into the base. For putting it back on, the recommended vice grip modification saves the fingers a slice from the screwdriver. |

98 Argo All adjusters are adjusted all the way out. All chains still have alot of slack in them. |

it sounds to me that the chains are streching, that wold be from alot of use, or just a low quality chain. when it comes to replacing chain the saying you get what you pay for, is the truth. i know that it is going to be an expensive fix to replace all the chains. you can find out what type of cahin you have by looking on the side of one link there will be a number i know on the max it is a 530 o-ring chain that is about 150.00 for 110 links. you can call richard clark for new chains. |

Depending on the year and model of machine you could have the 530 o-ring or you could have the ansi #50. Some Argos ran a double roller #50. Chain is not hard to find. Richard has it available and precut to the correct length. You could also order it bulk from McMaster Carr or get it from a Max or Argo dealer. It is true the quality of chain does make a difference. The chain made in the USA is my first choice followed by Japanese chain, I don't use Chinese made chain. I like Drives brand, it is made in Fulton, IL, then for Japanese I like Tsubaki. |

http://www.shoupparts.com is in Illinios and they handle the Drives brand. Free shipping and no tax out of state over a certain $ amount. It takes exactly 40 feet, 4 10ft lengths of double 50 to rechain my Response. Not one extra link, or two pieces linked together. That is one heavy pile of junk chain left over. |
