I get an occasional faint grinding noise when I pull back on the right stick on my Max II while turning. It only happens when making a low speed gradual turn, and not every time. Fluid levels are fine. Any ideas on what I should look at first? |

Bud, that is normal operation of the T-20. We like to call it 'band chatter'. The new vehicles usually run very quiet and Recreatives uses some GM rear differential additive to make it very quiet. Even then, the friction of the bands against the drums can cause a grinding noise. You can change the fluid in the trans and add 4 ounces of that additive with the fresh ATF. That should make it really quiet like it's always been, although there is no harm in chattering. |

Bud, I will concur with Brandon, my max 4 always did that from day 1.Now I have 215 hrs. on it and this time around when changing trans fluid added the diff. additive. Things are lot quieter except when I'm turning hard on black top. |

It is the General Motor limited slip differential additive use a 4 ounce bottle. Use GM and not a generic additive. |
