I've never owned an Argo and only have been in one for about 5 minutes. I'm looking at buying a used 1987 sight unseen. What are some questions I should ask the seller ? What modifications if any have to be made to install a set of tracks ? What is a reasonable price to pay for average condition ? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated ! |

Blair Go read through the many topics on this board, there are hundreds maybe a thousand messages about ARGOS and their positive and negetive areas. Or you can do a search, see search icon near the top of this board. For example search ARGO TRACKS. Dave |

Argos can use most tracks as long as they have the original tires |

Blair I bought a used Argo Conquest last year and the machine just about ruined my experience with AATV's. It had a wonderful engine but the chain slapping and other issues were so bad that it was no fun to be in. Thru a great dealer in Colorado I was able to purchase an Avenger. This machine with all the new improvements and features is a dream to be in. I guess what I am trying to tell you is that with any older machine there is a risk of inhereiting someones problem like I did. I felt that the added expense buying new was worth the enjoyable experience I am having now. If you are not in a big hurry keep an eye out for the newer Frontiers or Avengers that are being sold as used with only a very few hours on them. If this is out of your price range I would definately drive the machine you intend to buy before doing so unless you are the type of person that likes to tinker with maintenance. Good luck |

Blair, you need someone who knows something about argos to look over used machines, buying any kind of used machine, sight unseen is risky at best. |

I run from 5-10psi. Whatever it takes to keep the tracks snug. |
