Ok... I know it is a bone-head move, but after removing the head from my L285 rockwell I noticed that the head goes on a certain way. Anyone know which direction the indent goes. Toward the exhaust port, or the carb? Thanks... |

Nothing bone-headed about it- most of us have done similar stuff (I still do on a regular basis). The flat side of the head goes to the side of the exhaust port. Good Luck with it! |

Thanks for the info. I just want to clarfiy that we are on the same page. The combustion chamber is not symmetrically domed like I am used to. One half is domed where as the other is "flat". Now is that the flat side to which you are referring? Thanks again, Thom |

No problem. Yes, the side without the dome- JLO calls it the "squeeze" side of the head, goes to the exhaust port side of the jug. Don |

Thanks! I'll put the "squeeze" back in the right place. Much appreciated, Thom |
