Have accepted that I will not find tires for this jiger model 152 ser# 1644. Will have to weld on an adapter of some sort. What size tires/ wheels did they have on them? some measurements lead me to think the tire should have a 20" Outside dia probably with an 8 inch rim or so but the width has me stumped, Also the control stick (?) has two brake levers opposed to the single I have found in most pictures, why? Any help would be useful Thanks, Roy |

First the easy stuff, no reverse, that was easy. Next the wheels, I'm right at the point of looking for new ones, 7X8 or 8X8's will do, the plates sould be around $10 each, the rims are around $20 and tires are about £55, good all round ones are found here http://members.aye.net/%7Erclark/details_parts/tires_chevron.html and the adaptors can be found here http://members.aye.net/%7Erclark/details_parts/adapters.html. At the moment I took some lawnmower wheel hubs (3 bolt) and removed the collar and the bore size almost fits the stub left by the removal of the flotation wheel, if you know of an old lawnmower repair that may have a few old axle's that you can steal hubs and wheels from to keep the cost down. If your in Canada then Royal Distribution do some good mud/snow tires for $57, the wheels can be had from Princessauto.com and the plates you could probably turn some up yourself or have someone make them. 2 brake system i think is used with the 2 engined early jiger, I have seen some pictures but not sure where, I'm pretty sure it was in the first press releases when they have the 2 chainsaw motors installed but I may be very wrong, everything I have read show the Jiger as an evolution with changes made along the way, rather than a static design. I know a few changes were made in the 152 line up, before the radical changes made in the 197, I think somewhere along the way the steering became modified to take on the brake system. If you go to Jiger.ca you will find the manuals in the dwnload section giving many clues to how the machine changed. Adie |
