Hi. I remember reading that a few folks had changed the front two tires on an eight wheeler. I wanted to know if putting a couple tires with more aggressive tread than the rumamucks helped? Was it worth the expense? If so, what tires would you recommend?

Jamie,be careful, it is hard enough to keep all the tires the same size when they are matching tires. This becomes critical if you drive even short distances on dry pavement. If the circumference is not the same something has to slip or break a chain. People on this site seem to be excited about the new ARGO branded tire on the new Frontier. See the Frontier on John Schwab's new video or go to Brandon's dealership site and see a video of them on a Max ii. W. Philip Cox

Jamie-When I had a ARGO CONQUEST and the Runamuk tires I would run tire chains just on the front tires each side this would not affect the rolling diameter because the chains fall into the voids of these tires and you won't even notice they are on;they really helped coming out of mudholes and grabbing traction, probally better then more aggressive tires.Phillip is right about rolling diameters being equal the new AVENGER on hard surface has 4 tires on the ground and the other four corner tires 3/4" higher for easier steering and for less driveline wind-up on hard surfaces and the transmission has a differential to stop wind-up from side to side for less steering corrections.BOY OH BOY They really do their homework at ONTARIO DRIVE & GEAR !!!

I used the factory v-bar style for atv's but then tried car or light truck without v-bar cut to fit, and found these a little stronger the chain size is a little bigger on the sidewall where they grab roots sticks etc.Usually you can find some on E-BAY or garage sales fairly cheap.
