Greetings everyone-
I'm in the research stage of buying a new or used Argo, (possibly 2.)
I've learned quite a bit from various sources, including this site and spoke to Richard regarding tru-trax. However, I forgot to ask about axles.
Do Argos have solid axles out of the factory?
Also, are wheel bearing extenders mandatory for track installation?
Thanks in advance for your help. My wife and I are looking forward to the rides and meeting you all.

With a narrow plastic track you might be ok without rear extensions. The wider supertrack with the wheel spacers, and the rubber track probably need the rear extensions. That's a non official opinion. Every model comes with solid axles. |

Roger, thank you for the info.
I've heard that installing the wheel bearing extensions, (front and back,) will increase wheel bearing life. What do you, (and others,) think? I don't mind the extra cost if it works. |

Bearing extensions do increase bearing life. Like Roger said, the standard 13" Argo tracks can be run without extensions if they need to be. The Bigfoot comes standard with front extensions while the Vangaurd 2 has none standard. Those are your used options. If you go new, the Frontier is the way to go. It has front and rear extensions and much more power to run your tracks. The 13" standard plastic, 18" plastic super tracks, or the 18" rubber tracks can be run over the factory 24" tires. That allows you more ground clearance than other tracked 6x6s along with more track options, depending on conditions you'll ride in. |

Thanks, Brandon. The plan at this time is if I go with a new Argo, it'll be a Response which has front extentions as standard. I'd invest in the rear extensions for it as well.
As far as used, I believe I'd like a Conquest, Same configuration.
If I can get a second argo, it'll be a used Bigfoot.
Tru Tracks, (Argo factory tracks are too expensive,) and extensions for all.
Anyway, I'll be meeting with my dealer in a few weeks and we'll see what he has to say. In the meantime, thank you all very much for helping out the newby!
