Just about the time I think I have all the parts I need for getting my Max II back together, I find something else!(Ha!) I discovered, after having a great amout of trouble removing the left jackshaft to replace jackshaft spocket(s),I discover that the jackshaft is bent. I'm asking myself how it would get bent and if anyone else has had that happen? I was wondering why I couldn't slide the jackshaft through the battery compartment hole. I wondering if I could straighten the shaft, if I take care to keep it in round? If not I've thought about using a scrap stub shaft to make a jackshaft, they both seem to be the same diameter. The first 3/4 inch of the stub is wore down, but have enough to make a jackshaft, what do you guys think? I've given Richard two parts orders, totaling almost $600 in the last week and trying to save without sacrificing quality. |

I'd give Richard a call again. If you have spent that much I bet he would give you an excellent deal on a take off jackshaft. He has always treated me fantastic. |

you can ask mr clark how much his are but it is only cold rolled 3/4" stock, you can make it, when the chains are too tight they strech (ware out)faster, when worn or loose they might get misaligned with the roller atop the sproket point just once and pop your shafts bent! you can still get it home by adgusting it on the trail but a sawsall will be required to disasemble it, dont be shy, just hack the bent part off and make a new 3/4" shaft. |
