MAXEUROPE IS 100% CORRECT WITH THE POWER INCREASE WITH THE SUPERTRAP. I DID NOT BUY THE IDS2S BECAUSE THEY WERE ABOUT 160 BUCKS EACH. I BOUGHT THE OLD SUPERTRAPP 3INCH DISC SILENCER WITH A 1.5INCH DIAMETER CONNECTION. THE BODY WAS 39.99 AND THE 4STROKE FILLER KIT WAS ANOTHER 50.00 OR SO. I BOUGHT A SECTION OF 1.5INCH ALUMINUMIZED PIPE FROM THE CUSTOM EXHAUST GUYS AND CUT IT INTO TWO SECTIONS. ONE COMES STRAIGHT OFF ONE HEAD AND FITS INTO THE SILENCER THE OTHER ONE I CUT ON AN ANGLE AND WELDED IT WITH A WIREFEED WELDER TO THE OTHER PIPE WHICH I CUT A HOLE IN(I USED A DRILL AND MADE ABOUT 20 SIDE BY SIDE HOLES AND PUCNHED IT OUT) THE TWO PIPES INTO ONE ARE ALMOST STRAIGHT. THE DIRECTIONS SAID THE MORE DISCS YOU USE THE MORE POWER YOU GET AND THE LOUDER IT IS. I THOUGHT THIS WAS BACKWARDS, BUT IT'S CORRECT. IF YOU USE MORE DISCS YOU END UP WITH AN OVERALL LARGER ESCAPE FOR THE EXHAUST. ANYWAY THE POWER INCREASE IS TRMENDOUS. I ONLY DECIDED TO DO THIS AFTER MY STOCK MUFFLER CRACKED. I DID NOT BUY NEW EXHAUST MANIFOLD STUBS, I JUST CUT OFF THE ONES THAT WERE USED FOR THE MUFFLER. SO IT STARTS OFF AT 1NCH FROM THE HEADS AND EXPANDS TO 1.5INCHES ABOUT 3INCHES AFTER THAT. THE TIP OF THE SUPERTRAPP SILENCER DOES NOT EXTEND PAST THE BIGFOOT BODY SO I WONT CATCH IT ON A TREE. IF I RIDE AT NIGHT AND RIDE HARD IT GETS CHERRY RED, BUT DOES NOT EVEN COME CLOSE TO MELTING THE BODY. I HAVE IT POSITIONED IN THE CENTER OF THE OLD SCREEN USED FOR OLD EXHAUST. I MAY HAVE A FEW LEAKS BECAUSE I AM NEW AT WELDING. THE INTERIOR OF THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT IS AT LEAST 50% COOLER THAN BEFORE AND SO IS THE MOTOR! I HAVE THE 6PLY GATORS ON AND IT TURNS WITH NO PROBLEM AND THE POWER IS REALLY INCREASED DRAMATICALLY. I STIL HAVE THE STOCK CARB ON TOO. I BYPASSED M GOVERNER WITH A COAT HANGER YEARS AGO AND USE THE +4 PLUGS. I'M SURE I AM GETTING AT LEAST 23HP NOW IF NOT MORE.

Tim: You better richen up that carb a bit or your going to be in for a big suprise. If a high pref. exhaust system gets cherry red your WAY too lean. Not a good thing with an air cooled motor.

Has anyone richend up the carb on a 18 horse brigg's ?
It has a mikuni carb on it .
I put on a high flow air filter and twin pipe header on it but I need to fatten her up!
I see some guy's talking about the 20 horse carb but I feel the mikuni should do good with a little more jet.
Just need a starting point !

TJ: I have never screwed with an 18 hp Briggs but I have messed with alot of Mikuni carbs on bikes. Lower the clip on the needle valve(raise the needle valve) If it is in the lowest position already, then you need to go to the nearest bike shop and buy a bigger main jet.

TJ: I think Brandon did a carb swap on his Briggs to a Mikuni. Brandon?? A little help here!!! I think your going to have to go to a different size main jet if it's a butterfly type carb. Got to love that slide type though, everything is so easy to adjust!!!! Good luck TJ.

BOB: THE DISCS ON THE CAN GET CHERRY RED IF I AM RIDING WIDE OPEN. IT'S NOT NOTICEABLE DURING THE DAY. I CAN APPRECIATE WHAT YOUR SAYING, BUT THE MOTOR ITSELF IS RUNNING SUPER COOL COMPARED TO WHEN I HAD THE STOCK MUFFLER. REMEMBER THE CAN IS ONLY ABOUT 20 INCHES FROM THE PORTS AND FLAMES ARE PROBABLY REACHING THE DISCS.
