Not a new owner to Argo but new to this sound? I own a 2006 Avenger, 56 hours, running well with Argo snow tracks. Starting to notice a rattling noise a few weeks back and figured it was a heat sheild. This past weekend it started to get very bad and consistent. It ONLY happens in forward, lo or hi, does not happen in reverse. Mainly heard when you rev up and then idle down. Sounds a lot like the a chain rattle either on the tensioner or the idlers. The tensioners are fine, lot's of pad left, nothing seems to be in the way. On the idler, aside from needing some chain oil, it looks fine, tension seems fine with about 1/2" of play. The sound seems to be isolated in the left side idler chain, pulley area of the engine. Any ideas on next steps? The machine is running fine, full speed capable, but I worry that I may be doing some damage somewhere.

Okay, was out and about this past weekend and it appears to be related to the left braking system. We definitely have less braking power on the left than on the right, and the noise kicks in at that time. I had to head some early do never got a chance to investigate any more.
Any ideas as to what could be causing this?

I Had a hole in a master cylinder that kept the argo from turning easily to one side. It had to be forced and even then it wouldn't always turn. |
