We had a leaking valve stem and after letting Max IV back on ground the right side will bnot work. Where in detail do you check atf fluid? Where do you add atf fluid?

You check the transmission at the plugs at the rear of the transmission. There is one down low, this the the one used to check the level. So you can remove the plug and see if fluid comes out, you are ok, or if you can reach in and touch fluid you are ok. The plug at the top is used to fill. It has a vent and the plugs are not interchangeable. I doubt fuild is a problem. Check the shift linkage and make sure both sides are connected and that the diamond shaped piece attached to the linkage is moving when the gears are changed.

Ok, I see Fred has been addressing this on another thread. You can disconnect the shift linkage from the shifet group and see if they move freely and go from forward to neutral to reverse. If it spins easily and the gears don't seem to engage, pull the two bolts and plate that hold the shifter group in place then pull the shifter group up out of thetransmission look for a steel pin or nub on the bottom of the shifter group. It may have been broken off by hard excessively forcefulshifting. Removing the shift group and lubing the o-ring is part of the owner maint..
