JOHN PRINCE-I see you have a new FRONTIER ,because the winch pins on in the front you could buy the rear mount option or save money and do what I did for hook up of both high current draw electric accessories at rear. Buy a set of heavy gauge booster cables (12 foot for 8x8 aporox.$16CND) go to a forklift store or company buy a mini plug 1 5/8" and terminals(approx.$8CND.) that match your winch plugin. Crimp terminals on end of cables then route to the back of ARGO (right side)come out just under bumper on lower tub and mount the plug.Install the same plug on your electric boat motor;but if you want the rear winch option the positive side has to be on a dashswitch for direct power/winch solonoid power. For the winch mount I bought a piece of 2x2 5/16" wall tubing and marked all the holes (2 for winch pins 2 on top for recess bolts on winch 1 hitch pin and 1 underneath for coupler ball)in the right spots to pin the winch on then if you flip the mount over you have a ball hitch. The whole cost was about $50 CND.for everything.PICTURE to follow on next post to show mount. |
