I have a 2004 Argo Response. It has the factory winch on it. Has anyone replaced this kind of winch with one that is more powerful? I would want something that could be easliy swapped for the original. Thanks!! |

Jaimie you could mount a bigger one (I've seen a 6000 pound on a bigfoot) sometimes dealers put on smaller cheaper winches the factory winch is a 3000 pound superwinch anymore of a load will almost always result in damage to the supports and the upper body plastic.;use a strap on the hitch to pull other things ,and the winch to pull your argo out when stuck and to lift the snow plow only and your argo will be happy for years to come. |

Steve is no doubt correct--but--- this guy.s bigfoot wears an 8000 pound winch and he uses it and swears by it. W.Philip Cox |

As if the Bigfoot wasn't front heavy enough, that winch should prevent him from going down any hill. That's just impractical. We use the Ramsey 3000 with wireless remote control. It works great and has never failed to pull out a stuck vehicle. I don't know why Argo still continues to use and over price their Superwinch 3000. It isn't half the winch that the Warn and Ramsey is. We have an adapter plate to match Argo's two-hole Superwinch mount to the Ramsey's four hole mount. The Avenger and Frontier mounts also now have a quick disconnect so you can use the optional rear receiver hitch mount to winch backwards.
