Does it matter if the drain plugs on an argo are on the inside or outside of the unit. It seems to be a real pain in the !!!! to lift the floor panels every time you think you might be going into water. What is the common practice. |

Will get knocked out if outside. You can buy and install avenger drain plugs that will do what you want. |

I put the plugs in when I go out for a ride, while I am also checking the chains and sprockets to make sure they are tight and there isn't any debris that has fallen down under the rear floorboard. I never found it to be much of a problem to pull a couple of pins and lift the floorboard and push the plugs in.
It goes along with checking the oil and tire pressure. |

Rogersmith, I checked out the Avenger plugs. They are a screw in style. Argo must have seen the wisdom in accessing them from the outside. Jerry, I guess I should have been more specific and not attempt to be humorus. After reading my post again I can understand how I would come off looking lazy. My main concern was being able to empty the lower cavity of the argo after driving in the rain for long periods without having to empty the cargo area loaded with gear. I have purchased a bilge pump but haven't had the time to install it yet. I am a believer in proper maintenace and checks before going out with my unit. I will attempt to be clearer when I make future inquires. Thanks for your feedback Jerry. Peppi. |

Alf, I think what Roger means is you could buy the Two piece plugs for an Avenger (or a Frontier) and after making room in your skid plate rivet the threaded portion to your hull so that you can then use the threaded plugs. The plugs on MAX IVs are on the rear vertical wall and I have been using 3/4 inch removable boat plugs for the last 3 years with no failures yet (except when I forget to install them) LOL |
