ive noticed that the 26in wheels on my maxIV are on the wrong side, on the tires it says "traction ---> " that arrow is pointing back , but seeing how im usually driving forward it makes no sence to me, only thing i could think of is that they put them on backwards so they could manuever in water easier, should i switch them back right, would this make it turn and go faster ? |

The direction of the tread is what gives you forward motion in water, wrong way round = no or greatly reduced motion... |

troy Leave them the way they are. They come from the factory that way for a reason. If you want to experiment, wait till you become really experienced driving the machine the way it was built. (maybe a hundred or more hours) then do what you want. W. Philip |

Also if you do get stuck going forward it is easier to back out, with the tires on backwards they get better traction in reverse. You get the best of both worlds. |

it usually does not make much differance with 6 wheelers. if you are spinning the tires you have bottomed out. Backing out is your best option. |

I run points down on back tires, seem's to pop me out of mud holes a little better. This season running points down on middle tires. No sense points down on front tires because they are up in the air comming out.middle tires are on a little firmer mud, while back tires are still in the soup.No adverse handling effects noticed, still was able to paddle thru a pond with no problem couldn't say if i lost water speed don't spend that much time floating.Always wondered how much front back wash water the middle and rear tires are actually grabbing? |
