troy do you mean rear wheels are tilted in at top or tilted out at top? can be from bent, broken or cracked frame, can be from worn bushings, can be from wrong location for bearing mounting holes if it has bin modified with inner bearings. ~ shit like that ~ |

thanx for your suggestions, i rode it down the road today and both back tire wiggle a little right one more then the other.and yes back left corner frame is cracked and separated a hair which might explain the following tell me what you think. today i ran into another problem, was riding pretty fast and cut it hard one way you know ( is this okay to do) , and after doing this for awhile i heard a poping noise, the chain on the left back right up under the freakin egine had came off, i put it back on and it was real loose but i noticed the rest of them have guide they are running on,the guide had slipted all the way down to the bottom of rail, i pulled it back up and seemed to be fine but turns out the guide is real loose and keeps slipping back down every time i ride, have no clue how to tighten it, i wish it was on any other chain to cause its hell gettin to it, have any advise on this. |

troy the fraim brake could be causing the tentioner to slip,or dirt build up on the teeth, it works like a rachet, has a spring in back wich holds preshur on teeth to keep them engaged, now dirt could work its way in and seperate the teeth enoph to let them slip, also broken frame alowes axel to chaing angles, wich chainges the angles on sprokets, and the chain might try to stay on but.. it will put straing preshure on the tentioner, maybe pull the teeth apart and let it get loose, or maybe the angle pulls the chain over the side of sproket at same time it overwelms tenioners worn or stripped teeth and loosens it, i used to blow my tentioners all the time cause i was hitting them with 38hp 2 stroke twin, one trick that held for a short time was drilling holes threw tentioner uprights and puting nut & bolt in, keeps it in place unless you load it so much it brakes the bracket apart! (eventualy mine did) how are the bushings in the axels? open the body and jack the rear up and have someone wiggle up n down on the rear wheeles while you look inside at ends of axels near inner frame, if the axel ends bobin about at the end the bushings are shot! this can add to sproket misalignment, chain ware, and not to mention the end of your axel can ware threw quickly if steal on steal inside it, defenatly you need to check this out BEFORE you ride it again, because if the end of the axel brakes off your chains will come off and ball up and take out other chains-sprokets and other expensive parts! i should know, i put it off and it broke where i could not even get a trailer to it! tore teeth off my jack shaft and center sprokets, not prity i can tell you! |

Troy, it is common in all our old 6x6s for the bolt in the sprocket to be very sloppy. The bolt and sprocket get worn from the forward and backward rocking motion created by the skid steering. Newer vehicles have 7/16" bolts (non splined axle models), your vehicle probably still has 3/8" bolts. You could drill out all your bolt holes to fit the larger bolt. That would take care of the slop and give your drivetrain a lot more strength. |
