I like the optima batteries. They are a little pricey but they hold up well to impact and vibration. The deep cycle is good for winch use and has excellent reserve power. They are totally sealed and can be mounted in any position anywhere. Since they are sealed they won't spill acid out which can cause corrosive damage. And they don't have to be maintained other than keeping the terminals clean, and that is normally just dirt and dust build up and nothing with to do with acid.
Deep cycle marine batteries- they stand up better to being jerked around and vibrations- no maintenence that i know of, have never touched mine other than to install it and once or twice to jumpstart the ARGO - i have a very similar machine- just a year older i think.
