I have a 60s ATTEX 300. It has a Yamaha 440 twin 2stroke. My current problem is the right rear axle keeps shifting twards the center of the machine, then the chain goes. Will locking collars work or do I have to have some axles made? Is there something else I could try. I would like to keep it fairly stock. I replaced a broaken bearing on that axle and plan to do the same on the rest. Want to find a fix first. |

dose the drive tubeing run from just inside the bearing on outer bearing to just inside the inner bearing? or is the tubeing with your sproket on it short with axel exposed on both sides? if it just fits between the bearings it should keep the sproket in line, but if it is shorter and leaves axels exposed then the locking coler is needed, or maybe you could find a set of the aluminum outer bearing holders and axels they come with, they hold the axels with presed bearings and snap rings ect..ect..i think they have seals too! |

I will try the locking collars. I have easy access to new bearings and seals so I will outfit all the axles with new stuff and collars. thanks for your help. |

It does have the aluminum outer bearing holders. I had to get a new bearing and snap rings for the right rear axle but the axle slides in the new bearing too. It was a pain to press in, and it ran for a couple hours before shifting. Guess locking collars are next. |
