Hello Folks! Bought the new 2000 Max IV the other day and wasted no time building the ramp and "dock ensamble" for the back of the truck. the whole thing took 2 hours and $29.50.... ive got photos! Basically you build 2X10 plank pyramid assembilies for the "insides of both wheelwells" mine are Tapered at the beginning to go "up" smoothly once your "up there" These get smaller as they go up and the top plank is 72 inches. plenty of inches left over after all 6 wheels are up and in place. the bottom planks are right up against the cab so they cant "slip" forward.. you do not need to build the "Pyramid" as high as the Wheelwells themselves, just enough to get those wheels up 6 inches. the other thing i did was lay (2) 2x4's horizontally between the pyramids to heep them wedged against the wheelwells. the second board up is wider and sits on the 2x4's keeping them from tipping over. i dought they would but ive left nottin to chance. basically (1) 2x4 up by the cab and the other by the gate. measure these perfectly because all "beds" are bowed in one way or another. one cargo strap later and the deed is done. why anyone would use a trailer for just 1 Max etc. is beyond me... there just a little extra hassle driving around for nothing.. ive also got a neat way of keeping the Ramps in place.. i used (2) 7 foot 2x10's that were pressure treated and attached those tailgate "helpers" to the end which you can get almost anywhere nowadays. than you attach an eyebolt to the bottom of the board and "bungie" cord em to the bumper and tailgate side... im also thinking of replacing one bungie with a chain just in case... this is my only concern now as everything else went so smoothly on the last "tests". the boards do not hardly bend at all and this is a Max IV... i also installed a full Stereo system in mine which is really cool with the little rubber antenna.Photos of that online too!.. email me if you wanna see! rodneyg@nh.ultranet.com Thanks.. Rodney
