I can't figure out where to mount the contactor for the Warn winch. The RI instructions say to mount it on the "left bulkhead", and provides a diagram that does not relly tell me anything. Where exactly is the "left bulkhead?" I assume that it is metal, as the instructions state that paint is needed after drilling the mounting holes to prevent corrosion. Thanks, Bud |

Bud, I don't understand exactly what you are asking. I have never installed a winch (The factory does that during manufacture so I have not seen your instructions), but when they come in, the actuator control (activates cable going in or out) is on the winch if it is just a winch or on the left side of the dash (left of the ignition key) if with a plow. Why don't you call RI and tell us what they say. |

I don't own a Max but we installed a warn winch on an Argo.I think what you are talking about is the contactor which we mounted on the firewall or bulkhead which ever you want to call it.You should be able to mount any place you want on the firewall as long as you don't have anything touching the electrical leads and as far as painting the drilled holes I assume you statement is correct this would help out with corrosion caused from disimular metals.Hoped this helped you out some.Once again it should not matter as to where you mount the contactor just do it so that it is easy for access. Hey Bud, I hope I'm not to late to help you. The left bulkhead refers to the frame under the seat (for some unknown reason). The contactor will mount to the left of the shift lever. The directions will show you exactly where to drill the holes. Call me if you need anything else. |

That clears it up, Brandon. I spoke with Jay at RI yesterday, but he said that he would have to go out and look at a machine to tell me for sure. You directed me to the exact spot that I need. Thanks, Bud |
