I have a 2000 argo bigfoot with 485 hours. Does anybody have any ideas about the outer bearings on these machines. You can lift the machine and grab a wheel, lift it and you will find play in the axle. To me this means that the bearing is gone or going and should be replaced. The front bearings with the axle extension seem to be fine, you lift the machine grab the wheel and there is no play, however, the back four especially the very back have play in them. They never seem to last very long. This would be my third set of bearings in the back. How long should i drive this vehicle with the bearings in this state. How long should these bearings usually last? |

BRENT, MATT IS LOOKING INTO SOME USA MADE BEARINGS, ODG SWITCHED BEARING SUPPLIERS OR SOMETHING, ALOT OF US ARE HAVING ISSUES WITH THE "NEW" BEARINGS. I SAW THE BEARING THAT MATT IS LOOKING INTO AND IT IS A FAR BETTER BEARING. THE FACTORY DOESN'T WANT TO HEAR ABOUT THEIR BEARING ISSUE EITHER, AS I HAVE PERSONALLY TALKED TO THE PLANT MANAGER THEIR, AND HE SEEMS TO THINK THE BEARINGS ARE GOOD ONES, NEEDLESS TO SAY YOU ARE NOT THE ONLY ONE HAVING THIS PROBLEM. |

The present bearings are manufactured by NTN. I checked with a bearing supplier in my area, he found me the same type of bearing but when he checked the load specs the argo bearing could handle twice the load of the one he had. Anyway if you find a better bearing that works let me know I'll be sure to install those instead. |
