I use my 98 max II on the beach and I enjoy splashing in the surf. Unfortunatly, the salt water causes terrible corrosion on all exposed metal parts. I try to rinse the wheels and axels with fresh water but am still getting rust streaks. Does any one make galvanized or stainless wheel and axels? |

It seems normal for the exposed axles to rust. No more than a week after I got my brand new Max, the axles looked like they had rust on them. It could possibly be just mud on a surface that isn't easily washed. The rims only rust where the paint is scratched off. You should lube your bearings also, they might get ate up fairly quick. With some water resistant/marine grease (like in boat trailer bearings) |
