Hi I got a few years ago I got tru tracks for my buffalo.I am using 21 raw hides,they work most of the time but when I get alot of snow in the tracks they will spin ,if I don't have alot of air in the tires.So I buy the agro 22'S I found some forsale but what wheels do they fit on.I right now can't afford the ruber tracks.I need more flotation.I would like some thing ,like 18 inchs. |

Expect some wear to the tires when running tracks,my machine runs 50% percent of the time with tracks and the 21's show more wear than the 26's.Ownerers manual does suggest running more air if slipping.Don't think my track kit came with rawhides, OEM to argos wasn't it?. |

We used to just keep putting air in the tires until they stop spinning in the tracks Jack |

Chris, your machine is equiped with the additional external bearing cages and tie bar right? |

Dennis No I just made 1/2 inch spacers and put the tru traks on my buffalo. thats it.I wish I had the all of the factory set up including the rubber 15 tracks. |

With out the extra axle bearings and tie bar your front and rear axles are pulling towards each other with the tracks on,could be why you are spinning your tires and worst case spitting your tracks off on agressive turns.If you ran 15'' tracks you would have to space more which would increase your problem.O.E.M.spacers are approx. 4'',brings machine width to 66'' with tracks. |

Chris I do not mean to start something but I do not think you need the expensive extra axle bearings as they just mount to cheap, poorly designed strap metal cages, that are really junk.
I had a MAX IV with front cages, they would bend and break all the time, we rewelded them many times, then had to beat them back into shape, such a poor design, had they been made out of a solid piece or cast, they would be more rigid, then perhaps if you hit something, the frame would bend? However I am not sure
If your axles are moving now, just replace your worn axle bearings.
If you are running the wide tracks, I guess every bit of extra support would be nice. Standard tracks like ARGOS run fine with out them.

Maybe one up front wasn't enough,revised design have a cage for ea. axle with a ''c'' channel tying all three cages together.In any case if shown a picture they could be fabbed at home out of c-channel and a welder. |

I didn't know that there was a previous design of the Max axle extensions. My friend George from Mass. has ridden his 2003 Max iv in front of me at Copper Ridges for the last few years and I notice his axle extensions because my Max does not have them. He had not had any trouble with them when we talked last June. Philip W |

My 2003 Max IV has the factory cages(6) and bearing set up.The steel plate bolts on when you add the wheel extentions and tracks.
Very heavy duty set up. |

I do not agree, lack of bearing cages do not cause your tires to spin in the tracks, my MAX has tracks and NO cages and the tracks work great Robert |
