Personaly I use a ratchet strap on each corner to hold my bigfoot on the trailer. The winch was never designed to handle that kind of a load on it |

I use hooks on the rear axles of my Conquest and use the winch to pull the machine ahead for transporting inside an enclosed trailer. It's fast and secure. |

Kenny, I'd think you can use the winch for a hold down, but remember to release it when it is just parked. Continuous pressure on the plastic will deform it. I use ratchet straps over the tires or hooks over an axle. I also use the trailer hitch. With a max (not sure about Argo), you want to have constant pressure only on the parts that are fastened to the frame. Don't go over the body with a ratchet strap or hook onto the roll cage or roll bar, especially in hot weather. |

Kenny, I don't have any pictures. To hook over the axles, I spread the open end of the "s" hooks so they slip over the axles. If you have bearing cages on the front and/or rear, you can just hook into the bearing cage (as close to the body as possible. To go over the tires, start at the front (or rear and run your strap over each tire on a side (front,middle/s and rear keeping the strap in the mid point of each tire. Hook the strap over the edge of your trailer, etc. I have put eye bolts (3/8" bolt with nuts) in the floor of my trailer in front of and behind where my machines sit. I just drive over them. I also haul on a flat bed on my pickups. I back the machine in so the back tires are up against the front (this works well for a max because most of the weight is toward the front of the bed - with an argo, you might want to rig an old tire to hook on the front so you can put the front of the machine up against the headache rack and the tire will keep your machine from getting skinned up (that way, you would have the bulk of the Argo weight at the front of the bed). I have eye bolts in my headache rack where I hook the anchor end of the ratchet strap (takes about a 15 foot strap to go from front to rear) and I hook the ratchet end over the end of the flat bed. I only hook over the axles when I am hauling machines sideways on a trailer or on my extra long flatbed on my F350. With the ratchet strap running from tire to tire, you can get it really tight and the strap sinks into the rubber keeping it from slipping off the side. I'm doing other things this weekend, but if I get time next week, I will take some pictures and post them. |

I attached eye bolts through the floor of the trailer just inside the axles at each corner, then put turnbuckles throught the eye bolt. I leave the front ones fixed and adjust the rear ones to tighten it down. I use a 1' piece of chain around each axle to attach it to the turnbuckle. |
