Anyone who picks up the Sept. 2000 issue of Popular Mechanics will find a new MAX ad on page 63. It's a new approach, and while not stunning, it's better than what I've seen from RI in the past. I originally thought it should be color, but as all of the other ads on the pages are color, being black & white actually made it stand out a little more.
The MAX II pictured is a newer model with square headlights and cargo rack. Very sharp looking. The new MAX IV needs some exposure, too. I'm happy to see RI trying a fresher approach instead of that dinky ad buried in the classified section in the back. Maybe they actually read the posts in this thread and took the initiative? Coincedence??? Hmmmmm...

Actually in DU magazine, there has been full color ads for max.Usually showing a guy sitting in the
front seat with a lab and the front end next to the water. It's not in every issue, but I'll try to
find a copy as I save all of them.

My struggle with Power-Trac, Well guys, It's now August 14 over 30 days past the deadline VA dept. of consumer services gave Power-Trac to make their formal reply the the request for a refund (the request made by VADOCS. They had asked for an additional 10 days so they could take a vacation, that's been several weeks. Now they won't even return phone calls from the department of consumer affairs!
Please note that my slamming of Power-Trac has centered on their misrepresentation of their machine, they call it amphibious, then admit that it won't float without modifications. When I described in detail the type of terrain and the number of adult passengers it needed to carry they said no problem, more than enough power, however it can't pull a 45 degree grade with 4 passengers! I have no patience for anyone who misrepresents their product in such particular and pointed questions, 25 years ago it took me about 15 minutes to learn how to operate the hydraulic controls on a Bobcat skidsteer. What kind of learning curve can possibly be required in learning how to operate the throttle and two stick setup on the ATV-6000? They claim I only have trouble because i don't know how to operate it! I'm going to stop griping for now, it's also my lovely wifes birthday, the rest of the day I'm her's!
