I am thinking about buying a Extreme Machine
2000 just found this site as I am new the atv
world, I have 200 ac and need a machine to
go to the lake and cross it. This machine
sounds good. Anyone's comments about its
performance would be nice. They said 9200$
and would have my machine built in two
weeks. I really do not want to buy anything that
I can not get now but machine sounds good.

I cound not find anyone in my area that has
one, the said they have sold many "back east"
so I figured someone here has one.

No one in your area has one probably because they haven't really sold any. Just go to keyword
and look up Exterme Machine 2000 and you can read
the posts about the machine. I don't think they are very friendly people. People on this site have made comments about the machine and it seems to me that they took it personally and started calling people names etc. on route 6x6 telling us we had brains the size of jellyfish etc. etc. Do you think that is good business sense? I say NO
and I wouldn't buy one regardless of it's performance!! On top of that the machine looks like $#!+

I agree with Howard. I think the whole thing is a sham job.

Many people have wanted to see one, see one run, see something.

Richard among other have offered to "test" one, nothing from
the company except same old crap.

I do not think they have ever sold one, or even built one.

Pat: Call them back up and get name and number from someone
"back east" can call them.

Please post so we can all hear what is going on. But by all means
send NO MONEY

What does everybody else think?

PS: I have some swamp land in FL for sale. Ha Ha, just kidding

For $9200 you can get a really nice Max or Argo and know you are getting a quality vehicle from a company that has already been around at least 30 years. There is no way I would spend that much cash on something not proven.

Yes look though this board doing search under KEYWORD
on left of this page type in words "Extreme Machine 2000"

This is a really nice feature of this board, looking up old
messages, I bet you will find at least 100 messages about
this strange Extreme Machine 2000 deal, by the way most
of the messages are not to nice. The Extreme people
are not real nice, seem to hate us ATv people.

As others have stated, I would not buy from them. Something is up with that company. Now if you want to buy a good machine that has been tested and proven, buy a Max or Argo. I think one of the problems EM2K is having is financing (check out their web page). I was taught that the single largest cause of new business failure is insufficient capital. If you look at the venture capital market today, the money is out there but hard to get. The venture capital crowd got burned bad by the DOT COMers in the 90s. And EM2K is proposing a new technology product to enter a mature market. I wish them luck.

By the way I looked at the AMPHIBITRUCK and it seems to do a lot of what the EM2K does without the high tech risk. I was just in Littlerock, and looking at those Cyprus swamps thinking what a hoot to be motoring around in with my Bigfoot.

Did anyone notice the automotive fuel economy ratings the other day. The Honda highbred got 66 MPG. EM2K claims 100 MPG with soft feet and on rough terrain.

The 100mpg is due to the em2k's use of batteries to run the hyd pump via an electric motor. Fossil fuel is used only on the onboard gen. If this is what is referred to as "high tech risk" then barryhh3f must've wrote his post in 1924...I live in Spokane WA where the em2k was supposed to have been built. I went there and there was an empty building. I talked to the owner on the phone once when they were supposed to be starting up and he put me on a list. He must've lost the list w/ his financial backing! LOL!

Hydro Pump
If the EM2K is using electric powered hydro it is at a real disadvantage, for a hybrid machine. The hybrid cars use electric motors and as the car coasts the polarity of the motor is reversed, turning the motor into a generator that recharges the onboard batteries. That’s one part of the equation that gets them such high MPG ratings. With at hydro pump design you can’t do that. You have to power it at all times. I believe the inventor claimed to use some high speed magnets that give it 100 times the efficiency of standard electric motors. You can look that up in this discussion. And dudes, if anyone wants to here about high tech in 1924 my father is still alive, and he was 13 then. Of course his off roading was with a Mule, and I mean the hairy kind and there was nothing recreational about it.
